Ja, eens je de module(s) en eventuele accessoires (zonnepaneel, antennes, …) aangeschaft hebt zijn er géén extra kosten. Dus geen abonnement, geen datakosten, …
Nee, zowel op 433 MHz als 868 MHz werken de LoRa modules in een segment van het radiospectrum die vrijgesteld is van vergunningen en dus door iedereen gebruikt kan worden.
In België (en gans Europa) is vergunningsvrije LoRa communicatie zowel op 433 MHz als op 868 MHz toegestaan. Omwille van het beperkte vermogen is 433Mhz minder populair, de meeste activiteit vindt dan ook plaats in de 868MHz band. Je kiest dus best voor een 868MHz module. Let wel: er bestaan ook LoRa modules voor 915MHz maar die zijn voor de Amerikaanse en Australiesche markt (waar geen 433MHz of 868MHz toegestaan is)
Alles hangt af van wat er zich in je omgeving bevindt. Met een beetje geluk kun je met je companion node (die je verbindt met je PC of GSM via USB of bluetooth) verbinding maken met een repeater die zich reeds in je buurt bevindt om op die manier berichten naar het netwerk te versturen en te ontvangen. Indien er zicht geen repeater in de buurt bevindt is een extra node die geconfigureerd wordt als repeater een aanrader. Via de Belgische Meshcore kaart kun je al een idee hebben of er zich een repaater in je buurt bevindt.
